Assistive listening devices are electronics (other than hearing aids) that can help translate sound into a more understandable mode of communication. Personal amplifiers can be used as a substitute for hearing aids for people with minor hearing loss. They can also be used as an extension to hearing aids for people with extreme hearing loss.

Speech-to-Text Telephone
[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”blue”][vc_column_text 0=””]Speech-to-Text telephones have a large screen attached to the phone that dictates what the person on the other line is saying. The telephones are easy to use, have Bluetooth connectivity, and louder than normal speakerphones. These phones can be government-funded, so you can find funding to pay for them.

Alerting Devices

It allows for easier recognition of actions within a household.

Augmentative Communication Devices

They are designed to aid people with communication disorders as a way to express themselves and converse with others. The simple devices can be objects such as picture boards. The complex devices can be computer programs that translate text to speech.

If you are interested in ordering a speech-to-text telephone, you will first need a recent hearing test and a meeting with an Audiologist in order to order the device. The speech-to-text telephones we offer come through government-funded programs that require an Audiologist to approve and order the devices. This appointment can be scheduled by calling our office.
